Nawalgarh is a municipality in Jhunjhunu region of Indian state Rajasthan. It is part of the Shekhawati district, is midway between Sikar and Jhunjhunu. Podar Haveli Museum in Nawalgarh
The rational place to start a tour of Nawalgarh is on the eastern side of municipality at the wonderful Anandi Lal Podar Haveli which now houses the Dr Ramnath A. Podar Haveli Museum. Build in 1920, this is one of the some havelis in Shekhawati to have been restore to its actual glory and boast the most bright murals in town, soldiers drilling with rifles, including steam trains and a clever 3D-like panel of a bull’s skull that transmogrifies into that of an elephant as you move from left to right. There’s also a gently diverting sequence of exhibits showcasing aspect of Rajasthani life including musical traditional and instrument costumes.
Kamal Morarka Haveli Museum in Nawalgarh
With growing tourisms, interest in the havelis of Shekhavati, we initiate the protection of Morarka Haveli and the thought of rotating it into a museum – a museum of frescoes, creative doors, stone pillar and cusped arch.
